Raw Onion Chutney !


If you like the sweetness of onion.. then this chutney is for you . Quick and easy when compared to other spicy chutney where some time is involved in sauting the ingrediens and then waiting to cool before grinding etc.
Just grind the raw ingredients and then season with some spices and an awesome condiment is ready to be served with idlis and dosas.

STEPS
  • Grind together chopped onions dry red chillis, garllic and little tamarind with salt.
  • Heat a small pan / kadai and add oil. Once hot add mustard seeds and urad dal
  • Once the dal turns golden brown, add jeera , hing and curry leaves. (i didnt have curry leaves).




  • Add the ground chutney to the pan and mix well. Just keep on stove for a minute and turn off flame.
  • Be generous in adding oil for this chutney. Or you can use ghee too.
  • You need not cook for long and wait for the raw smell to fade.
